Nationwide appeal by Wiltshire Police to find convicted sex offender

1 June 2011

Wiltshire Police are appealing for information regarding the whereabouts of David Glynn, a convicted sex offender aged 64 from Salisbury.

Glynn was convicted of indecent assault in 1995 involving a young woman and as part of his sentence he is required to keep police informed of where he is staying. He has failed to do this on several occasions and enquiries to locate him have so far been negative and as a consequence we are now issuing this media appeal.

Substantial enquiries have been carried out across the country with many agencies including circulation of his details and photograph to all forces, circulation as wanted on police national computer, financial and intelligence checks.

Police also want to trace Glynn’s wife, Terri Glynn whose whereabouts are also unknown.

David Glynn may have set up business as a natural therapy practitioner.

He has also been known as ‘Brian Irwin’ and his wife Terri Glynn as ‘Teresa Wood’ and ‘Terri Day’.

Acting Detective Inspector, Mike Selbie said: ‘I am appealing for anyone who has information on the whereabouts of David Glynn or his wife, Terri to contact me. It may be that they have travelled abroad which has happened previously.

I would like to make it clear that Terri is not wanted for any offence but I am keen to locate her as she may have information regarding David’s location.

I’d also like to appeal directly to David because it is important that he realises the seriousness of failing to comply with the registration requirements and I urge him to make contact with police.

Whenever a convicted sex offender cannot be traced there is obviously an increased risk of that person reoffending and whilst we have not got any specific information that indicates that he has done, it is clearly important that we do everything possible to try and locate him.’

Anyone with information regarding David Glynn is asked to contact A/DI Mike Selbie on 0845 408 7000 or Crimestoppers 0800 555 111 where information may be left anonymously if preferred.
