North Yorkshire Fire Service were called to the Hydro Swimming Pool in the Jennyfields area of Harrogate today (10 July 2015) at around 2:13pm

The fire crews found smoke issuing from the top of the building and used hose jets to extinguish a small fire in a plant room, at the rear of the building.

Swimmers and staff were evacuated from the front of the building, in-line with procedures and nobody was injured.

Harrogate Borough Council have investigated the extent of the damage and the gym area is currently open with the pool set to re-open at 4pm today.
