SJF best ever GCSE results

22 August 2013

After a nervous wait over the summer months, students at Saint John Fisher Catholic High School have discovered they have once again bucked the national trend with another year of outstanding GCSE results, even improving on last year’s success.

95% of students achieved five or more GCSEs at A* – C, with over 89% including Maths and English. Every student achieved 5 or more awards graded between A* – G and 42% of the GCSE grades were A*/A.

Head Teacher, Mr Paul Jackson said, “We are so very proud of the achievements of all our students, so ably supported by their teachers and parents. We have consistently had an improving trend for the last five years, which is a welcoming assurance to the families of the children attending Saint John Fishers.”

Two of the most successful students were Alice Bryant, with twelve A*s, and Eloise Dunn, with twelve A*s and an A.

I have enjoyed the summer after all my revision and hard work but waiting for the results has been quite nerve wracking. I couldn’t believe my grades, as they’re incredible. I’m now really looking forward to starting 6th Form. I’m concentrating on languages and these grades have really given me confidence for the future.

Eloise added:

I’m extremely proud of my results but relieved it’s all over. I’m so glad I beat my older brother’s results from two years ago. Like Alice, I’m really looking forward to starting 6th Form at SJF in September.
