Major exam success for Harrogate Dance Centre

2 March 2017

Chatsworth Dance Centre in Harrogate have had a major exam success.

Eight students took the graded examination for the Intermediate Ballet Exam (International Dance Teachers Association – IDTA) and they all passed with distinction – the highest grade possible.

Natalie Rouse, Emma Money, Sofia Kondi, Sophie Ward, Lily Fearnley, Zoe Pears, Maddy Hobden and Amber Morley all passed with distinction.

The Dance Centre was setup in 2008 and has 2 dance studios on Chatsworth Road. It’s a  family run business setup by sisters, Joanna Pollitt and Stephanie Starkings. Each week they see around 400 students come through the doors to enjoy dance lessons such as tap, ballet, modern and street.

Jo Pollit said: This is an incredible achievement for the dance studio and the dancers themselves.

We knew that they had all been working very hard, but for them to all gain distinctions is just amazing.

This shows great credit to the work they put in and effort put in by our teachers at the school.

In 2016 over 200 individual exams were taken at the school. All the exams are externally moderated by the International Dance Teachers Association.
