A twenty per cent boost in the number of photographers who turned out for Knaresborough Camera Club’s outdoors programme bodes well for the start of the 2013-2014 season, according to its chairman.

Richard Bryant said a comprehensive and original line up of photoshoots had drawn several new faces who were impressed by the group’s focus on learning together.

The club expects to reach a 40-strong membership when enrolment for the indoor season gets under way on Wednesday 11 September 2013.

Richard said:

Our summer programme has taken us to some great locations within the district. We’ve captured the serenity of churches, the training discipline of Thai boxers and the extraordinary flower arranging skills of Knaresborough Flower Club.

Richard has promised that the club will continue its focus of learning together, build on its increasing use of social media and make greater use of its website, He also hopes to ensure that Knaresborough brings more competition success after winning the annual three-way interclub challenge with Axminister and Peterhead.

Richard added:

We have a great group of people who are willing to learn and share knowledge and a fabulous mix of creativity.

For the 2013-2014 season, the club can look forward to another strong programme, drawing upon the insights of more guest speakers, photoshoots as well as tutorials and workshops for all levels.

The club meets on Wednesdays at 7.45pm at Park Grove Church Hall HG5 9ET. Further information is available from club secretary Steve Moull, tel. 01423 542884 and the website: www.knaresboroughcameraclub.blogspot.co.uk
