Barn Fire in Castley

Fire_headYesterday evening (20:10 on 5th February 2013)  crews attended an incident involving a detached barn measuring 20m x 4m containing straw and animal feed

The barn is on Chapel Hill Lane in Castley (between Pannal and Poole in Wharfedale).

An appliance from Otley in West Yorkshire and were initially mobilised to the incident along with a officer.

On arrival crews requested a further appliance attend along with the water bowser to assist with bringing the under control.

On site farm machinary was used to assist the Fire Service with removing straw bales from the barn.
