The land consists of 4 segments of gardens around the Oval, totalling 4.5 acres. It is not a sale for the properties.
It is part of the West End Park (Estate) and is a Harrogate conservation area. It was established as amenity gardens for residents in the 1890s, but is now privately owned.
The area has been maintained by the locals that live adjacent to the park land. They have an Oval Gardens Committee and were not aware of the land going up for sale.
