Harrogate power outages caused by fault to underground network

20 September 2018

A Northern Powergrid spokeswoman confirmed that at 3:16 pm yesterday (19 September) a power cut affected around 1,500 customers in the Harrogate area.

Northern Powergrid spokeswoman said:

Our engineers were able to restore power to some 1,100 customers within 30 minutes by switching them to an alternative part of our network. At 4:50 pm 540 customers were interrupted again.

Power was restored to all customers by 5:30 pm the same day.

The power cut was caused by a fault on the underground power network.

We’d like to thank our customers for their patience whilst we worked to get the lights back on.
