A Harrogate law firm has been “bowled over” by the success of a junior cricket team it has sponsored.

Stowe Family Law has been the main sponsor for all Harrogate U9’s Cricket teams since the start of the outdoor season in April 2017, with the Indoor team recently topping the league table by winning all seven of their games.

The squad, which practices at Ashville Sports Centre, were presented with their medals by Stowe Family Law CEO Charles Hartwell, at a ceremony attended by parents.

Mr Hartwell said:

I was asked by one of my own team whose son plays for the club if we might consider sponsoring the kit. Cricket is my absolute passion, so I didn’t hesitate in agreeing to it.

To borrow a cricketing parlance, I am absolutely bowled over with their success. It was a pleasure to be invited to present the young players with their medals and to congratulate them on their magnificent season.

Team coach Brian Summerson said:

I would like to say a big thank you to Stowe Family Law for their generosity in sponsoring the side. We have had a terrific season and I’m incredibly proud of the boys.

We have 15 in the squad and each played around three games as a way to gain experience and enjoyment.

We now have one final game to concentrate on, a play-off between ourselves and the team in second place, Studley Royal. Making it eight victories out of eight would just be superb.
