Independance from America – peaceful protest at Menwith Hill

The Campaign for the Accountabilty of America Baes – CAAB is holding a peaceful outside the Menwith base on 4 July 2014.

The will see a number of speakers at the including former GCHQ intelligence office and whistle blower, Annie Machon who will be travelling from Berlin.


Also speaking will be David Swanson (journalist, author and activist) who is coming from the States and Caroline Hughes (newly appointed Professor of Conflict Resolution and Peace at the Department of Peace Studies in Bradford). Musicians playing include the renowned socialist singer (friend of the late Tony Benn) Roy Bailey.

Annie Machon said: The 4 of July celebrates American’s independence from Britain. Thanks to Edward Snowden, we now know that America is subjugating the entire world with a global spy surveillance network. The US listening post at Menwith Hill is a symbol of this tyranny and we demand back our historic right to privacy

Friday 4 July (5-9 pm) to be held at the main entrance to NSA Menwith Hill near .

To mark the Tour de France (which will be passing NSA/NRO Menwith Hill on Sunday 6 July) CAAB will be calling for Independence from America and this NSA base be recycled.
