43 Celebrate 25

24 April 2014

Twenty five years of success in the print business was celebrated in great style by the employees of Platinum Print and their partners when they closed the business for a day and headed to the Lake District. The event was the brainchild of business owners David and Marina Wyvill who started the business 25 years ago in a garage in Harrogate and the business now boasts a turnover of £3.2 million at its Hookstone Park site.

The staff and their partners, making a party of forty three, were taken to Derwent Water in the Lake District for a weekend of activities which included axe-throwing, archery, catapult-building, fly casting and sheep herding. The first day finished with prize giving and a ‘Back to the 80s’ fancy dress disco, reminiscing the start of the business in the 1980s. The next day started with a boat trip and then the entire team climbing Cat Bells Fell. At 451 metres all were rewarded with a hearty pub lunch before the quiet coach trip home.

Mark Plummer who took over as managing director earlier this year said: It was enormously generous of David and Marina Wyvill to take such a large party to celebrate 25 years of business success. The business has always been run as a family concern and to give everyone the opportunity to celebrate together was absolutely fantastic and appreciated by all.

Platinum Print has recently made a £750,000 investment in new technology in the form of a Komori Lithrone 4-colour press and the business has already seen its investment bear fruit in terms of increased sales and efficiency. The company is targeting a 15% increase in sales in 2014, having achieved an 8% increase in the last twelve months.
