MP’s new blog highlights local activity

25 October 2013

Harrogate and Knaresborough’s MP has officially launched his new ‘out and about with Andrew Jones MP’ blog detailing his work in the constituency.

The blog is designed to be a more community-focussed resource than his website which also details national campaigns and Mr Jones’s work in the Commons.

The blog provides details of the many organisations Mr Jones visits with links so that local people can get involved with them too via the blog.

Mr Jones commented:

Having been a councillor for 7 years before becoming an MP and being a Harrogate resident I know just how important it is to have firm links in the community as an elected representative. I therefore devote much of my time when home in the constituency to supporting local groups and organisations. Those groups do valuable work and are often short of volunteers and support.

Promoting their work in the constituency to a much wider audience is a great way to showcase what they do and how the public can help. This blog is designed to do just that.
