Thirsk Police investigate cat shooting

PoliceThirsk police are appealing for the public’s help after a cat was shot dead in Topcliffe.

It was hit with pellets from a BB gun at least ten times on Thursday 11 October 2012. This incident follows a shooting of a cat in September 2012. Thankfully that pet survived, following treatment at a local vets for a fractured leg.

 

PC Duncan Pears, of Thirsk Safer Neighbourhood Team, said:

These acts of barbarity at truly sickening. How anyone can inflict such injuries on innocent animals is beyond understanding. Those responsible such be utterly ashamed of themselves.

If you can identify those responsible to come forward and contact the police or Crimestoppers straight away.
