An Olympic Age

26 July 2012

Over 90 people came to support the inspirational Age UK North Yorkshire ‘Olympics for the over 50’s’ in the Valley Gardens on 19th July.  Two Olympic torch bearers, the mayor and his wife also took part in the games.  98 year old Lilly (pictured with Pam Shillito from The Pines Nursing home) persevered and won the game of Boccia, achieving a chocolate gold medal, other games included kurling and seated volleyball.

Age UK North Yorkshire’s Fit as a Fiddle scheme runs exercise and well-being classes for the over 50’s in Harrogate, Ripon and Northallerton.
