Cuore Chamber Orchestra to launch in Leeds

26 January 2026

Cuore’s world-class professional musicians pursue their ambitious inaugural season with a debut performance at the Howard Assembly Room, Leeds on 6th March 2026. This follows their acclaimed launch and season opening concerts at the Royal Hall, Harrogate.

‘Cuore is an orchestra to serve the whole of Yorkshire’ says Leeds-born founder and Artistic Director William Dutton ‘and we are so excited to be launching into our region’s biggest city’.

The concert will be presented in a fundraising partnership with Leeds-based charity St Gemma’s Hospice, an organisation founded nearly 50 years ago with the help of Dutton’s grandfather Professor Gerald Richards.

‘It is an honour to be working in partnership with such an important organisation, so central to the city of Leeds.’ says Dutton. ‘Although our two charities are very different in nature, we have a common aim of serving the community at its very heart’.

The evening’s performance will feature the national premiere of Anglo-Italian composer Elisabetta Brusa’s ‘Simply Largo’ and the concert will also feature works by Purcell, Parry and Dvorak. Cuore is dedicated to performing works by British composers, having already showcased pieces by Berkeley, Holst and Elgar in their first two concerts.

After positive reviews of their first two concerts both regionally and nationally, Cuore is thrilled to be contributing to the cultural output of celebrations to mark 400 years of Leeds as a city.
