Incident in Harrogate town centre

Harrogate Police and Ambulance are currently dealing with an incident on Camrbidge Street in Harrogate.

It is believed to involve a number of rough sleepers in the town, with injury to at least one person. Witnesses have described one man having a lot of blood covering his legs.

A spokesperson for North Yorkshire Polcie said:

We were called at about 8.30am this morning with a report that a man had been assaulted on Cambridge Road, Harrogate.

He has been taken to hospital for treatment.

Officers are at the scene, and our investigation into the incident is ongoing.

  1. When are they going to do something about these people. They terrorise neighbourhoods in central Harrogate and nothing seems to be happening…

  2. I was there. Seen and heard a lot of it.
    A couple as it seemed, shouting and swearing at eachother. He was on the ground with his knees up A s I walked past with my 6yo son. She was kicking the hell out of his legs. He got up and went into the middle of the road and was hurling abusive language at eachother! When I got into the shop the police turned ups nd an ambulance. Was horrific. There’s absolutely no need. No respect for eachother or for the general public especially with children around. Just scruffy. No need at all. It’s unfortunate that people got hurt but they both played a big part in trying to knock eachother out…
