Car fails to stop following collision with cyclist in Askwith

Police are appealing for witnesses following a collision on West Lane in Askwith, near Harrogate.

The incident happened at approximately 3.15pm on Saturday 10 March 2018 and involved a pedal cycle and a red car.

It is believed that both vehicles were travelling from the Ilkley direction towards Askwith when the collision occurred.

As a result of the collision, a 23 year old woman from the Leeds area was taken by ambulance to hospital with serious but not life threatening injuries.

The red car failed to stop at the scene and enquiries are ongoing to identify this vehicle and its driver.

Officers from the Roads Policing Group would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the collision or anyone who was in the area at the time of the collision. They would also like anyone with dashcam footage from the area to get in touch.
