Ripon butcher scoops Best Online Butcher of Year 2016 accolade

21 November 2016

Farmison & Co.  named Best Online Butcher of the Year 2016 at the Butchers Shop Awards 2016 sponsored by Meat Trades Journal.

The awards ceremony was held at Banking Hall London on 7th November, where some of England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wale’s best butchers gathered to find out who had won.

The Award, which has been running for over 20 years, is one of the highest accolades in the butchery industry and covers independent butchers, farm shops, food halls and young butchers. This is the very first year that Butchers Shop Awards have included the category for Best Online Butcher’s Shop.

John Pallagi, Managing Director of Farmison & Co said:

We are delighted to receive this recognition in recognition of our mission to get the nation to Eat Better Meat. Farmison & Co have the most talented team and achieving this means a tremendous amount given the hard work and effort from the whole team. To win Best Online Butcher’s Shop with UK wide competition is a real accolade.
The judges specifically cited the Quality of our online shop and product range, as well as the Innovation which we are bringing to the Butchery sector within the UK.

It confirms our long held belief that the Great British Public appreciate Heritage Breed Meat and support Ethical British Farmers.

I am passionate about the quality of British Meat, specifically that which is reared in the Yorkshire Dales National Park and North Yorks Moors, so to be supplying this on a national stage, both online to Home Cooks and to many of the UK’s finest Michelin Star Chefs, is a great honour.

Having already been selected Best Independent Retailer at the Observer Food Monthly Awards 2016 (runner-up) and shortlisted at the Grocer Awards 2014 a best Specialist Online Retailer of the Year, it is a clear sign that Farmison & Co. are leading the way in online butchery and heritage meat.
