RNIB Tate House on Wetherby Road, Harrogate has been awarded a ‘Good’ rating in all areas by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) in its latest inspection.
RNIB Tate House is a specialist residential care home for people with sight problems and is registered to provide personal care for up to 39 people who have sight loss, and those who require personal care.
The ‘Good’ rating means that the service is performing well and is meeting CQC’s expectations.
Inspectors stated that:
During the inspection there was a happy, friendly atmosphere and people who used the service were relaxed in the company of staff and others they lived with.
People were supported to maintain relationships with family and friends. They were also encouraged to attend local community facilities. People looked well cared for.
The report also praised the staff and management team saying “all of the interaction we observed between people and staff was compassionate, kind and caring. Staff knew people well and were able to describe to us their likes and dislikes and what was important to people.”
