The Community Awards will be awarding 15 grants of £5,000 and four awards of £25,000 to community groups, clubs and other voluntary organisations.
The funding can be used for a broad range of projects and so far they have helped 18 groups to improve something in their communities.
OneFamily have made a commitment of £5 million over the next five years to the Community Awards.
Julie Stead-Connor, Marketing Manager at OneFamily said: We’ve had an excellent response to our Community Awards with 408 worthy projects nominated by our customers so far. We encourage anybody involved in their community, or in a cause that matters to them, to see how they can get involved. Besides the fabulous funding opportunity, the Community Awards have been fantastic for our previous winners at raising their profile, building partnerships and a support base that will help them to achieve incredible things in their community. There’s still time to apply but the deadline for this round is fast approaching.
Applications can be made online at https://foundation.onefamily.com/community-awards
Projects need to be nominated by one of the OneFamily 2 million customers. If groups don’t know one then they can post details in our forum and our customers can discover them and look to get involved. See https://foundation.onefamily.com/discussion/looking-for-a-customer-to-nominate-your-project/
Nominations close at 9am on 26 May 2015 before a public vote determines the winners.
Voting opens at 10am on 2 June and closes at midday on 29 June.
There is a second funding round open in September, you can also register to be kept up to date with the latest opportunities.
