Marketplace Event “Resounding Success” Says Organisers Disability Action Yorkshire

28 April 2015

A marketplace event for disabled people staged in Harrogate has been hailed a “resounding success” by its organisers.

More than 100 people from across the region attended the afternoon’s exhibition and workshops held at the Cairn Hotel by Disability Action Yorkshire.

Visitors were able to browse the 30 plus stands – which included Wiltshire Fine Foods, Yorkshire Housing, Yorkshire MESMAC and Beaucare Medical – plus attend a number workshops delivered by local and regional experts.

Disability Action Yorkshire chief executive Jackie Snape said: We are absolutely delighted with how our marketplace event turned out.

The quality and quantity of exhibitors was a real selling point, so too was the selection of seminars available for the visitors to attend.

The feedback from visitors and exhibitors alike has been excellent, and we have been asked to consider making this an annual event, one that we can grow year on year.

I’d like to thank the exhibitors, sponsors, the Cairn Hotel, and, of course, the team who helped to make the day the resounding success it was.

The months of hard work that went into organising the event was certainly well worth it.

The amount of services, advice and products for disabled people are increasing all the time, and so to is the interest from those who will ultimately benefit from them.

Looking ahead, I think there is every likely hood that this will be the first of many market place events we will be holding in Harrogate, for the disabled community, on an annual basis.
