The mosaic was made by Year 5 / 6 pupils from Willow Tree and Hookstone Chase Community Primary, along with 8-12 year old children from the Friday Night Fever youth club at the Fairfax Community Centre.

It has 4 main sections, with the schools using their schools colours. Willow Tree completed the green section and Hookstone the red section – each school having the mosaic for 2 days. The Friday youth club took the blue section and they all contributed to the remaining section.

The project was funded through a grant of £1500 from the Borough Councils Community Chest and £500 from the Fairfax Management Committee.

Sue Kershaw said: Mosaics are a great way to bring people together. There are lots of parts and its about bringing a community together through art and creativity.
