Alleged drink driver resists arrest in Knaresborough

A  black Suzuki SX4 crashed  into a tree on Chain Lane near the Co-op shop in Knaresborough at 5.25pm on Saturday (28 September 2013)

The 23-year-old male driver then ran from the scene before being arrested on Aspin Lane.

He was found to have nearly three-times the legal alcohol limit and officers used pava spray as he resisted arrest.

The man was also arrested for driving without valid insurance, taking a vehicle without consent and driving without due care and attention.

He was held in custody overnight and bailed until 18 October 2013 as enquires continue.
