Dementia Forward are a local charity based in Ripon and Harrogate. They help families experiencing dementia, whether they have received a diagnosis, have concerns about memory, support someone with memory problems, work in dementia care or just want to know more.

Oliver Stirk, Director of Carefound Home Care, commented:

Our fantastic team works with families experiencing dementia every day and it is a cause that is very close to our hearts. Supporting people with dementia is never just about a carer or even a care provider like us – it is about everybody involved in that person’s life such as a son, a daughter, a carer, a GP, a lawyer or a charity.

Dementia Forward provide a service which is hugely important to families in the local community and we are delighted to help them wherever possible. People have been incredibly generous in supporting our team to take on the York 10K for which we are very grateful.

Netty Newell, Community Liaison Officer at Dementia Forward, said with a huge smile:

We are so very grateful to the Carefound Home Care team and everyone who got behind them to raise such a significant amount of money. The money will be used locally to provide vital support to people affected by dementia in our community.
