Victim named following fatal collision near Harrogate

TrafficPolice in Harrogate have released the name of the man who died as the result of a road traffic collision and make a renewed appeal for witnesses to come forward.

The man who died was David Thomas Maskill, who was aged 42 and from Copgrove.

The inquest was opened and adjourned on Wednesday 17 July 2013, in Harrogate.

The collision occurred shortly before 8pm on Friday 12 July 2013, involving a Porsche Boxster and a tractor.

At the time of the collision the Porsche was travelling from Staveley to Copgrove, on Wath Lane, and the tractor was heading in the opposite direction.

Mr Maskill, who was driving the Porsche, was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

Traffic Sergeant Julian Pearson, of North Yorkshire Police’s Roads Policing Group, said:

I am keen to speak to anyone who was in the area of Wath Lane at the time of the collision and may have seen either of the vehicles prior to the incident and ask them to get in touch straight away.
