Here today gnome tomorrow

PoliceA pink-faced gnome, who wears a red hat, was stolen from outside a property on Dowber Court in Thirsk, sometime between 9.30am and 12.30pm on Saturday 1 December 2012.

The local police have appealed for the safe return of the gnome.

He is fitted with a sensor which detects motion, and wolf whistles when someone walks past.

Officers are appealing to anyone with information about the theft to come forward.

PC Adam Gatenby, of Thirsk Safer Neighbourhood Team, said:

The owner is very upset by this theft and would very much like to get her gnome back.

The gnome is not expensive but it holds great sentimental value to her and I am appealing to anyone who can help the investigation to contact the police or Crimestoppers as soon as possible.

Anyone who can help officers with their enquiries is urged to contact North Yorkshire Police on 101 – select option 2 – and ask for Adam Gatenby or Thirsk police.
