Police appeal for information over rape in Holbeck

Police in Leeds are appealing for witnesses after a woman was raped in the Holbeck area on the 22 June.

At around 11pm the 35-year old was on Domestic Street when a silver saloon car pulled up alongside her.

A man got out of the car and attacked the woman before dragging her into the car and driving away.

He then subjected the woman to a serious sexual assault before leaving her near to Domestic Street. The victim reported the incident to police at 1:30am on the 23 June.

As a result of enquiries, police arrested a 27-year old man on suspicion of rape. He was later charged and will appear at Leeds Crown Court on the 5 July.

Police are now appealing for any witnesses to the incident to contact them. It is believed that there were a number of members of the public in the area at the time of the incident.

Police also know that a white-coloured van drove by the victim shortly before the attack took place.
