56-year-old Zafar Iqbal from Nelson, Lancashire, has been arrested by the Roads Policing Group on suspicion of perverting the course of justice and driving offences, Wednesday 25 March 2026.
The arrest was a direct result of information received following a wanted person appeal issued on 10 March.
On 13 July 2025, a safety camera unit caught a motorcycle travelling at excess speed near Hawes.
This motorcycle stopped, and the rider covered the number plate of the vehicle before riding past.
Enquiries later identified the motorcycle and the rider to be Iqbal who has attempted to pervert the course of justice continually, stating he had sold the vehicle years ago despite enquiries proving otherwise.
