24 June 2026

On Monday, 18th May 2026, Yorkshire Food Guide proudly pulled off their first fine dining event, in collaboration with some of the best chefs in the Yorkshire region.

Hosted at the splendour of family-owned estate, Rudding Park, Harrogate, the evening proved a huge success, raising vital funds for local charity Candlelighters.

The evening began with a toast and a cool glass of English sparkling, provided by drinks sponsor Domaine Evremond.

Five courses were presented by five award winning Yorkshire based chefs, Ruth Hansom of Hansom Restaurant, Jake Jones from Middleton Lodge, Ahmed Abdalla, from The Grand, York, Callum Leslie from Roots, York and Adam Degg from Fifty Two at Rudding Park.

Then, guests heard from Rohan Randhawa, a trustee and board member of Candlelighters.

Rohan shared his story and how he was supported by the incredible team at Candlelighters when he was diagnosed with cancer as a child.

This memorable and eye-opening segment of the evening, encouraged further guests to support the charity.

Samantha Williams, Partnership Development Manager at Candlelighters:

It was a truly special evening that will make a real difference to children with cancer and their families across Yorkshire. The support, energy and generosity shown by everyone involved was simply overwhelming, with an incredible £14,500 raised on the night.

It was moving to see so many people united in support of families facing some of the toughest times imaginable, and we know the impact of the funds raised will be felt by families across the region.

The rib-eye of beef came straight from R and J Yorkshire’s Finest Farmers and Butchers, the headline sponsor of the evening who supply some of the best restaurants in the region, with quality meats.

Accompanied by live music and an ongoing silent auction, guests enjoyed the evening as the sun set, and the candles slowly dimmed.

With raffle prize and silent auction winners announced, the night ended on a real high.

An impressive £14,500 was raised from this spectacular evening alone.

Jonathan Harris, Co-director at Yorkshire Food Guide said:

We cannot wait to host our next event, welcoming familiar and new faces to celebrate everything the Yorkshire foodie scene has to offer.

This evening is the first of many to come, and we hope guests enjoyed the night as much as we did.

The evening wouldn’t have been possible without the generosity of sponsors R and J Yorkshire’s Finest Farmers and Butchers, WithStudio and Domaine Evremond.
