Family Festival Returns To Spiegeltent For Summer Season

18 June 2026

A weekend of interactive performances, workshops, and educational displays will take place at the upcoming Family Festival in Harrogate.

The two-day event runs from June 27 to 28 inside the Spiegeltent, located in Harrogate’s Crescent Gardens. The festival brings together a variety of live activities and creative sessions designed for children of different age groups.

The program begins on Saturday morning with SPRUNG, an early-years theatrical performance that combines puppetry, music, and storytelling aimed at toddlers and babies. This is followed by The Big Beatbox Jam, an interactive vocal workshop led by flautist and beatboxer James, where audience members can participate in creating live audio tracks using microphones and real-time mixing equipment.

The Saturday schedule concludes with a family ceilidh hosted by the folk collective Cut a Shine, featuring traditional upbeat music and group dancing with guided instructions for attendees.

On Sunday, activities resume with the Indian Dance for Families workshop, an interactive session focused on traditional movement using colorful sarees and scarves. Following this, Circus Leeds will perform a live showcase of stunts, magic tricks, and physical feats, which will be paired with a hands-on skills workshop for both children and adults.

The afternoon continues with Sublime Science, an educational demonstration featuring live experiments, giant smoke rings, mini rockets, and foam volcanoes. The festival programming concludes with the Baby Broadway Family Concert, featuring live performances from professional West End vocalists alongside puppets and dance activities.

Sharon Canavar, Chief Executive of Harrogate International Festivals, said:

The Family Festival is a fantastic, fun-filled way of encouraging our children to explore the world around them. And I can’t think of a better setting than the Spiegeltent from which to stimulate young minds and help them discover the joy that music, dance, science and storytelling can bring.

The event runs from June 27 to 28 at the Spiegeltent in Crescent Gardens. Complete scheduling information, timetables, and admission details are hosted on the official Harrogate International Festivals website.
