Interim Digital, the Harrogate-based digital performance and freelancer network, has been named Independent Agency of the Year (Small) at the Prolific North Champions Awards 2026.
The award, sponsored by Glaisyers ETL, recognises independent creative, advertising, and communications agencies of ten or fewer employees, demonstrating exceptional performance, innovation, and growth.
Founded in 2021 by Ginny Nicholls, Interim Digital operates a curated, invitation-only network of vetted senior freelance and fractional digital specialists, supporting agencies and brands to scale quickly without the cost and risk of permanent hiring. The business has generated £1.3 million since launch, maintained an 83% repeat or retained client rate, and achieved sustained average year-on-year revenue growth of 46%.
Interim Digital has supported over 40 agencies and brands, built a vetted network of over 100 freelance specialists, with a further 290 on the waiting list, and paid over £700,000 directly to freelancers.

The company has recently invested in automation, AI-assisted workflows and platforms including Zapier and Monday.com to reduce core onboarding and administration requirements.
The Prolific North Champions Awards win comes as Interim enters its next growth phase, having recently appointed its first Fractional Client Strategy Director, itself a reflection of the company’s philosophy that sustainable agency growth is driven by curated expertise and operational efficiency, not headcount.
