Nominations for the second Pride in Diversity Awards are now open

3 February 2026

The Pride in Diversity Awards celebrate people from across Yorkshire who are championing the needs of people from diverse backgrounds, as well as sparking new opportunities for support and collaboration, boosting funding for essential services, and shaping a more inclusive Yorkshire where everyone has the chance to thrive.

Matt Jameson, originally known for being part of Married at First Sight’s first same sex couple, is the co-founder:

These are tough times for many people, particularly those who face additional barriers to accessing help and enjoying life. We want to amplify diverse voices and recognise the dedication of people who are selflessly working to build a fairer, more inclusive society. They’re the backbone of our communities and deserve recognition, so please get nominating!

Anyone can submit a nomination, and categories reward individuals, grassroots charities, and larger organisations and businesses.

Last year’s recipients included Leeds Pride, which was awarded Diversity Team of the Year, and Leeds Rhinos legend Jamie Jones Buchanan MBE, who was awarded Public Figure of the Year and is a judge this year.

Public speaker and broadcaster Stephanie Hirst is a returning judge:

The Pride in Diversity Awards are a fantastic opportunity for people from all backgrounds to join together and celebrate the people who are making things better for everyone. I’m so privileged to have been asked to return as a judge and make sure selfless people, charities and businesses from across Yorkshire get the recognition they deserve.

The awards are being held on Thursday 18 June 2026 at the VIP Black & White Lounge, First Direct Bank Arena.

You can vote for your winners, and book tickets, on the website at prideindiversity.co.uk.
