Social media posts circulating about attempted dog theft in Ripley is referring to an incident in Derbyshire

North Yorkshire Police have confirmed that a post circulating on social media about an attempted dog theft in Ripley, is actually referring to Ripley in Derbyshire.

The graphic post shows an injury that was sustained during the incident over the weekend, and has had around 58,000 shares.

People should be re-assured that it is not an incident from North Yorkshire, and there very few attempted dog thefts in the county.
