Appeal for witnesses to collision between motorbike and car on the A59 near Skipton

Police are appealing for witnesses to a collision between a motorbike and a car on the A59 near to the roundabout with the A65 at Skipton.

The collision happened at approximately 8.20pm on Sunday 17 July 2016 and involved a Black Vauxhall Astra which was travelling towards Harrogate and a green Kawasaki ZX-636 travelling in the opposite direction.  It is believed that prior to the collision the Kawasaki was travelling with another motorbike which was yellow in colour.

Police have identified the rider of the yellow motorcycle but are keen to speak with anyone who witnessed the actual collision or saw any of the three vehicles prior to it.

The rider of the Kawasaki was taken by ambulance to Leeds General Infirmary where he remains with serious leg injuries and the road remained closed for three hours whilst Police carried out detailed investigations.
