‘Kids go free’ offer to help Harrogate’s festive shoppers

19 December 2015

Bus company Transdev Harrogate has announced a special ‘kids ride for free’ offer to help parents ease the stress of last-minute Christmas shopping.

Transdev has announced the offer for parents travelling with children under 15 on ‘the 1’, which links Harrogate and Knaresborough every 7 minutes during the day, and also serves Carmires, Eastfield and Aspin.

The promotion, which also applies to the bus operator’s newly extended 1A route between Harrogate, Knaresborough and Boroughbridge, runs from Monday December 21 to Thursday December 24.

Alex Hornby, chief executive at Transdev, said:

We know the last-minute Christmas shopping rush can be a busy and stressful time for parents, especially those travelling with younger children during the school holidays. It’s also a time when the roads are busy and parking is in short supply.

As a show of goodwill during these final shopping days before Christmas, we’re letting children under 15 who are with an adult travel free. We hope this gesture will help in a small way to make the Christmas shopping experience more cost effective and convenient for our customers.

Further route and timetable details, including stops served by the 1 service, can be found on the Transdev Harrogate website.
