New leadership at Harrogate Chamber of Trade and Commerce

5 November 2014

A familiar face has been appointed to lead Harrogate Chamber following the resignation of its President, Stuart Pearson.

Sandra Doherty, who served two years as President until May 2014, has stepped back in on a temporary basis to lead the Chamber until the end of the current term in May 2015. She will be supported in the role by the Chamber’s Management Group, including several Past Presidents and Vice Presidents.
It follows Stuart Pearson’s announcement that he would be stepping down from the role for personal reasons.

Ms Doherty said: The Chamber is very grateful to Stuart for the hard work he has put in since taking up the role of President in May.

We are sorry to see him go, but we will be continuing to build on the work he has done to strengthen and grow both the Chamber and the Yorkshire Business Market, which takes place on April 27, 2015.

During my two years in office I really enjoyed representing the Chamber and getting to know more about the fantastic local businesses we have in the Harrogate area.

I’m looking forward to having the opportunity to do that again until May, when our AGM is held and a new, permanent President will be chosen.

The next meeting of Harrogate Chamber of Trade and Commerce will be Rail and Air Links: Improved Connectivity for Harrogate and Yorkshire – World Wide. It will include presentations from leaders of local and regional rail and air operators, including a discussion about the proposed HS3 development.

The meeting takes place at the Crown Hotel on Monday, 10 November 2014. Informal networking begins at 5.30pm, followed by the meeting at 6.15pm, closing by 8pm. Guests can attend their first meeting for free (£15 for subsequent meetings) but should register in advance by emailing info@harrogatechamber.org
