Cigarettes taken after thieves force entry into newsagent

Harrogate Police are appealing for witnesses after a quantity of cigarettes were taken when thieves forced their way into a local newsagents.

Sometime overnight, between Friday 17 October and Saturday 18 October 2014, thieves forced their way into the Wilkinson’s Newsagents on Wetherby Road and stole cigarettes and tobacco.

It is believed that the burglary may have occurred at around 3am.

Officers are appealing to anyone who saw any suspicious people or vehicles in the area around the time of the incident to get in touch.

You are also urged to come forward if you have been offered any cigarettes or tobacco for sale in suspicious circumstances.

Anyone who can help officers with their enquiries is urged to contact North Yorkshire Police on 101 – select option 2 – and ask for Detective Constable Fiona Ayre or PC Raheel Akram.
