Man accused of Harrogate stabbing remanded in custody as case heads to Crown Court

Max Atkinson, aged 21 and from Roberts Street in Harrogate, has today appeared at Harrogate magistrates Court charged with offences related to a stabbing in the town.

The incident happened on Friday (18 July 2014) at 6pm on Station Parade in Harrogate.

Mr Atkinson has been charged with wounding with intent and possessing a knife.

The victim was a local 27-year-old man who suffered two stab wounds to his leg and was taken to Harrogate District Hospital for treatment.

Under Section 51 of the Crime and Disorder Act (CDA) 1998 Magistrates have sent the case to be heard at York Crown Court, on 4 August 2014.

An application for bail was not made by Mr Atkinson’s defence solicitor and he was remanded in custody.
