Sculptor Steve, whose Yorkshire Man of Steel is due to be completed in early 2016, is delighted to bring a the dramatic replica of his stunning sculpture, and the building it will be sitting atop, to the 156th Great Yorkshire Show, which runs until Thursday 10 July.
Steve, whose sculpture represents the men and women he worked with in the steel industry in Sheffield, will be at the showground on the opening day, Tuesday 8 July 2014, to talk to visitors about his artwork and answer questions.
Taking his inspiration from the county’s industrial past, as well as advances in new technology, The Yorkshire Man of Steel, which will weigh an impressive 35 tonnes when completed, will be positioned near the site of the former Tinsley cooling towers at the side of the M1 near Sheffield.
