Fire crews remained overnight and today (19 March 2014) at the scene of the fire on Albert Street in Harrogate.
The fire was reported at around 11:30am on 18 March 2014 and at its peak had 18 fire vehicles in attendance.
Damage has been extensive to the Prezzo restaurant, Pizza Express and the flats above.
Fire investigators and structural engineers have been examining the property. The road remains closed and the building is being made safe with scaffolding.
Prezzo chief executive Jonathan Kaye said: We are thankful that no one was injured as a result of the fire at Prezzo in Harrogate yesterday morning.
We thank and applaud the actions of the fire brigade in dealing with the fire.
We will assist the fire brigade with their investigation to establish the cause of the fire.
Overall the most important factor is that there were no casualties as a result of this terrible incident.
Our primary concern is to secure the building and to ensure it is safe. Once that is done, we will be assessing the damage.
