The Ice Cream Expo returned to the Yorkshire Event Centre (YEC) in February whipped up by nine new exhibitors and a wide range of innovative new products and services topped off with some tasty seminars for those in the ice cream industry.
Visitors were treated to products ranging from flavourings, to wafers and cones, packaging, containers, machinery, mobile vans and much more.
The Expo encompassed two days of judging across seventeen classes of the National Ice Cream Competition. Children were invited to take part in the tallest whippy ice cream competition.
The Expo has been at the YEC since 2008 and the Ice Cream Alliance (ICA), have already committed to stay at the Yorkshire Event Centre in 2015.
Zelica Carr, Chief Executive Officer of The Ice Cream Alliance, the trade body for the UK’s £1bn ice cream industry, said: The Yorkshire Event Centre has been our venue of choice for the last six years and we are delighted to be returning next year.
The Ice Cream Expo is the largest of its kind in the UK and continues to attract exhibitors and visitors from around the world. This year’s event was no exception and the feedback so far from exhibitors is that they have generated excellent business from the event.
YEC Venue Manager, Richard Moorhouse, added: I am delighted we have managed to secure the Ice Cream Expo for 2015. The unique requirements of the show do make it challenging but also very enjoyable – and who doesn’t love ice cream!
As well as the main exhibition, Harrogate offers the perfect events destination for the ICA as evening events were also held at Pavilions of Harrogate and the Old Swan Hotel during the week.
There will be the opportunity to meet the YEC team and learn more about what Harrogate has to offer as an events destination at International Confex as part of the Visit Harrogate stand at Olympia on Wednesday 12th and Thursday 13th March 2014.
