Two killed on A65 near Skipton

Harrogate PolicePolice in Craven are appealing for witnesses after two people died in a road traffic collision on the A65 near Skipton.

A 61-year-old woman and an 83-year-old man, both from Colne, were pronounced dead at the scene when their pale blue Hyundai i10 collided with a grey Skoda Octavia close to the Grassington roundabout, at around 5.10pm on Sunday 9 June 2013.

They had just passed Skipton Golf Course and were heading towards the roundabout when they hit the Skoda which was travelling in the opposite direction.

The driver of the Skoda, an 84-year-old man from Addingham suffered minor injuries in the collision. However, his passenger an 80-year-old woman, also from Addingham, was seriously injured and was airlifted to Leeds General Infirmary.

She remains in hospital in a stable condition.

Officers are appealing to anyone who witnessed the collision to contact them with information.
