HandsHarrogate – local care company, Home Instead Senior Care, who provide personalised care and support to older people in their own homes, are teaming up with local charities Dementia Forward and Carers’ Resource in order to host a free information event in recognition of Carers Week (10-16 June).

The event which is titled ‘Prepared to Care?’, will be held at Wesley Chapel, Oxford St, Harrogate, HG1 1PP on the 12th June between 10-3pm. Cake and refreshments will be served.

Carers Week is a UK wide annual awareness campaign which celebrates and recognises the contribution the UK’s 6.5 million carers make to the people they care for and their communities. It also aims to improve the lives of carers and the people they care for, help the public identify themselves as carers and allow people to access the appropriate support and information they need.

Sheena Van Parys from Home Instead Senior Care said:

Dementia Forward, who support people living with dementia and those who care for them and Carers’ Resource, who give tailored support and information to unpaid carers and vulnerable people, both offer valuable services in the local area and it’ s great to be partnering them for Carers Week.

This event is available to anyone in the community, whether they are currently caring for a loved one or may become a family carer in the future. We will be providing a wealth of information on the day, including the types of support and advice that is available in the local area. There will also be the opportunity to raise any concerns that you may have as a carer and discuss these in person.
