Witnesses sought to Harrogate town centre assault

PoliceA man has suffered serious injuries when he was assaulted in Harrogate.

The victim, a 47-year-old local man, sustained fractures to his cheekbone and eye socket following an incident under One Arch at around 5.40pm on Sunday 5 May 2013.

A 17-year-old youth was arrested in connection with the incident and has been charged with grievous bodily harm with intent.

He is due to appear at Harrogate Magistrates’ Court today (Tuesday 7 May 2013).

Despite the charge, officers are still seeking witnesses to the incident and are urging anyone with information to come forward.
