Registration for Saint Michael’s Star Walk closes in just over a month on Sunday 9 June 2013.
Leading the charge to get their skates on to support the event, which takes place for the first time on Saturday 22 June 2013, are local roller derby club, the Spa Town Roller Girls.
Twenty members of the group will roll, glide and slide their way along the 10km Star Walk route dressed as super heroes to raise vital funds for local people living with terminal illness and bereavement.
The group’s events coordinator, Simone Bilton, said:
The Spa Town Roller Girls are very excited to be taking part in this year’s Star Walk – we’re always up for a good skate and the event promises to be lots of fun!
We wanted to get involved because Saint Michael’s is a charity which many of our team members have been affected by, so felt it was extremely important that we support them in any way we can.
We plan to take part by leading the Walk on our skates and entertaining all the walkers en route in our superhero costumes.
Expect lots of silly dancing and singing to bring a smile to the faces of the fantastic fundraisers!
The Star Walk will see hundreds of local people take to the streets of Harrogate and complete either a 5km or 10km route taking in many of Harrogate’s favourite landmarks such as the Tewit Well, Cenotaph and the Stray.

The event is sponsored by financial service provider, Engage Mutual. Registration costs £10 for adults and £5 for children under 17, and can be secured online at www.saintmichaelshospice.org or by calling
