  1. we were actually staying at the Moor house that night. it was the most horrendous and horrific fire ever. Our thoughts go out to Lynn and Steve and their Granddaughter. Also to Jane and Andy. Every one did what they possible could before the fire crews turned up. It was such a tragic end to a Easter weekend. Thank god no one was hurt !!!!!! Mr and Mrs Bostock rallied round and people came to offer warm blankets and hot tea. Still living each moment of the horrific event.

  2. absolutely gutted to see the drovers burned out, went for

  3. Very shocked to hear the news, the day after the fire, from a friend at Ripon. We have a caravan at Ripon and we’ve gone to The Drovers for our Sunday lunch for several years now, always enjoyed the excellent meals, always greeted with a smile and felt so very welcome by Lynn and Steve, and the regulars, with whom we’ve built up friendships and enjoyed a chat. So very sorry for Lynn and Steve, devastating to lose so much in the fire, their home and their livelihood, but relieved to know that everyone got out safely. We emailed some photos of the inside of the Inn to Lynn a few weeks ago, so poignant now.
Best Wishes to all, hope to see you around X

  4. Though I am relieved to know that Lynn and Steve were not physically harmed, I am profoundly saddened to learn of their loss and offer my most heartfelt condolences. I spend my summers at Winksley Banks, and from May through September at least, was among the regulars at the Little Drover’s every Sunday for lunch. It was the very essence of a country pub: the hub of the local community where all were warmly welcomed. It will be sorely missed. Scott Caesar, Englewood, Florida.

  5. I have just found out about the fire which happened to the Drovers Inn. My Dad loved this pub and enjoyed a pint whenever he visited his lovely cottage in Kirky Malzaerd. My Dad saddly passed away aged 56 some 14 years ago. The owners of the Drovers very kindly let my sister and I put a bench up outside the pub with a plaque on in rememberence of our Dad. If anyone could please send me the email address of the owners I would very much like to contact them. I hope someone can help. Caroline

  6. How sad, we used to travel for miles from all over Yorkshire, for great food.
Hope it gets rebuilt, although I know Steve’s health wasn’t too good. Glad nobody was hurt. Our thoughts are with you ….Ian & Paula.. Wirral.
