Richard Grafton Interiors, the Harrogate based interiors retail and design firm launched earlier this year, has acquired a local interior design business as it continues its expansion.

The firm has acquired Janet Sandles Interiors, a Harrogate interiors firm established in 2000, and owner Janet Sandles will be joining Richard Grafton Interiors as an interior designer.

Richard Grafton said:

The acquisition of Janet’s business, and her recruitment to our team of designers further boosts our design capability, and allows us to build on the flying start we have enjoyed since we launched in March.

Janet has a great deal of experience, having run a successful design business for the past 12 years and as well as having worked as a designer for the BBC for 10 years earlier in her career. We are looking forward to welcoming her input into our design contracts as we continue to grow our client base across Yorkshire.

Janet, who holds a Bachelor of Arts in fashion and textile design, will be based at Richard Grafton Interiors’ 3,000sq ft showroom and design studios at The Ginnel, Harrogate.

The three-storey showroom, design centre and studio, was formerly part of the ‘To Catch a Dream’ furniture showroom in the Montpellier Quarter of the town. The £1m showrooms feature room sets showcasing entire living rooms, bathrooms and a show flat to demonstrate the firm’s design and installation capability.

A total of eight staff now work at the firm, including five experienced interior designers, the largest dedicated team in the region.

Janet Sandles added:

I am really looking forward to working as part of an experienced team again, and introducing my clients to Richard Grafton Interiors.

The foothold Richard has gained since launching the business earlier this year is remarkable, and I want to do my part to help this already successful business to grow.
