Motorcycle rider injured following Harrogate collision

Police are appealing for witnesses following a collision in Harrogate, yesterday evening (Thursday 31 March)

It happened at 5.40pm on Skipton Road at the junction of Coppice Way, and involved a car, a van and a motorcycle.

The motorcycle, a silver 500cc Kawasaki, and the car, a grey Volvo XC90 were travelling up Skipton Road, from the direction of the New park roundabout when they collided at the junction with Coppice Way. The motorcycle left the road and collided with the van, a Citroen Berlingo, which was parked on a driveway.

The 44yr old female driver of the Volvo was shaken but otherwise uninjured.

The 28yr old male rider of the motorcycle was taken by Yorkshire Air Ambulance to the Leeds General Infirmary with serious, but not believed to be life threatening injuries.

Anyone who witnessed the collision, or who saw the Volvo or Kawasaki Motorcycle prior to the collision, is asked to contact police.
