Knaresborough school receives £500 boost from local homebuilder

12 November 2020

Taylor Wimpey North Yorkshire has donated £500 to Aspin Park Academy in Knaresborough, which the Academy will use to purchase outdoor equipment for its Early Years Foundation Stage area.

Sharon Robertson, headteacher at Aspin Park Academy, said:

We’re grateful for this donation from Taylor Wimpey, which allows us to invest in some much-needed new outdoor learning equipment.

The new equipment will help enhance our younger children’s learning and will give the whole team a boost in what has been a challenging year. It is fantastic to receive support from a local business.

Steven Ball, sales and marketing director at Taylor Wimpey North Yorkshire, said:

We’re proud to be able to donate to Aspin Park Academy in order for them to purchase new equipment for their children. Schools like this one mean so much to the local community and often see generations of children walk through their doors.

We know schools are having to find new ways to raise money due to COVID-19 stopping fundraising events, so we are delighted to be able to help out during this time.

  1. The cheapest advert they’ve paid for….Did you know their houses are fleecehold?… Freehold properties but with management fees forever tied into its covenants. This is a plight on our country. Never buy such homes. Fees are uncapped and unregulated. A scandal in the waiting. Some banks already refuse mortgages on such properties. Also Stonebridge homes at Kingsley farm. Dont buy these sort of houses.

  2. The cheapest advert they’ve had to pay for. Did you know they are ‘fleecehold’ houses they sell?… Same as Stonebridge over at Kinglsey Farm. “freehold” properties but with uncapped and unregulated management fees forever tied into the deeds & covenants. Never ever buy such houses. Research it yourself. Even BBC have some coverage on this. Some lenders already blanket refuse mortgages on these homes. You are completely unprotected in the event of a huge management fee invoice.
