A group of Rossett School Year 10 students recently enjoyed a visit to the new Harrogate College development.
Students were invited to take part in a guided tour of the construction site, led by Caddick Project Manager, Matt Hargreaves.
During the visit, Matt provided an informative insight into the building project, explaining the various stages of the construction process and answering a range of questions from students. Many of the questions focused on career pathways within the construction industry, giving students a valuable opportunity to learn directly from an industry professional.
To ensure the visit was conducted safely, students were equipped with steel toe cap boots, hard hats and high-visibility jackets, giving them a genuine experience of what it is like to work on a live construction site.
The visit allowed students to see first-hand the skills, teamwork and technical expertise involved in modern construction projects. It also helped bring to life the many career opportunities available within the trades and wider construction sector.
Students said they enjoyed the experience and appreciated the chance to observe real-life trade work in action while gaining a better understanding of workplace expectations within the industry.
Rossett have extended their thanks to Harrogate College for selecting their students for this unique opportunity, and to Caddick and Matt Hargreaves for providing such an engaging and educational visit, saying that experiences such as these play an important role in helping our students explore future career options and make informed decisions about their next steps.
